The Bixby Ranch House is a Shingle Style Dutch Colonial home located in Long Beach, California.  The Bixby brothers and their family moved west from Maine just before the Civil War and began to acquire Spanish land grants for their expanding sheep herding operations.  With the wealth they had created, the Bixby’s hired the architectural firm of Coxhead & Coxhead to create the stunning home.  And in 1904, Coxhead & Coxhead were brought back to create a massive addition upping the square footage to  7,000 square feet with a total of 8 Bedrooms.

While much of the original land surrounding the property was parceled off, a small section was repurchased, and the original reflecting pools were reinstated by the Rose family in 1991.
